Suspension Cell Cartridge, 60 mL

Description

Suspension Cell Cartridge. 60 mL working volume, single-use, pre-sterilized.

Bubble-free suspension culture. Gas exchange by diffusion, not sparging.

Bubble rupture at the gas-liquid interface is the dominant damage mechanism in sparged suspension culture followed by impeller shear. Antifoam and shear protectants (e.g. Pluronic F-68) manage that symptom but with added cost, reduced oxygen transfer, and downstream complications.

The cartridge is built around a gyroid-structured bubble-free bioreactor, its geometry inspired by the efficiency of the human vascular system: a network of microchannels bounded by a gas-permeable, liquid-tight membrane. Gas diffuses through the channel walls. Cells stay in suspension via a controlled rotation cycle. There's no use of impeller or sparger; so no foam is generated.

Continuous perfusion. Fresh medium in, spent medium out, without the metabolite accumulation that defines the back half of a fed-batch run. And no antifoam or shear protectants implies two fewer components in the media formulation and two fewer variables downstream.

The Suspension Cell Cartridge kit includes:

  • Bubble-free bioreactor: gyroid microchannel architecture, gas-permeable / liquid-tight
  • Formulation consumable: 6 media bags
  • Tubing set
  • Formulator flask
  • 3 inoculation kits
  • 3 gas control consumables
  • Integrated ports for sampling, inoculation and harvest
  • LOT-level traceability
  • Single-use, tool-free installation
  • 60 mL working volume
  • Suitable for suspension lines including CHO and HEK-293

Handling & safety

  • Single use only.
  • Requires a Stämm HTB Production Unit. One cartridge per run.
  • For working volumes and chemical compatibility, see Details.
  • Each unit arrives sterile and individually packed.
