If you read the first article of this newsletter, or you’ve been keeping up with our Linkedin posts, then you probably know that last year our team embarked on a scientific journey. The Bioprocessor, our flagship product, traveled to Switzerland for two months to be demoed by partners outside Stämm. We conducted multiple runs at the facilities of BioArk, the biotech startup accelerator in the canton of Valais.
In our last issue, we spoke about our experience as a whole and its positive results. In this piece, we’ll go deeper into our Stämmers personal experience and how they got to such great results.
Mariano Collodel, Maia Ludmila Budziñski, Martin Lopez Palermo, and Leandro Leonardo ventured to Switzerland on a mission fueled by innovation and the pursuit of excellence. This odyssey wasn’t just about work; it was about pushing boundaries and testing limits in the heart of Europe’s biotech hub.
For two months, our team found themselves in Monthey, entrusted with a crucial task: replicate the intricate workings of the Stämm bioprocessors at BioArk. It wasn’t just a routine assignment; it was a planned operation that involved setting up a state-of-the-art lab, experimenting with novel culture media, and conducting assays with diverse cell lines. The stakes were high, but so were the rewards.
Leandro Leonardo faced a challenge arriving in Europe: building a lab from scratch. It might seem daunting to many, but for him, meticulous planning months ahead ensured a seamless execution. Every detail was calculated, from setting up equipment to the daily monitoring grind. He left no room for idle days. The payoff was immense – not just professionally but personally. His accomplishment reverberated beyond expectations, leaving him with fulfillment that transcended work.
Ludmila Budziñski experienced a blend of reward and challenge. The joy of witnessing successful assays and cell growth thousands of miles away from home fueled her passion. Amidst the trials, she emphasized the role of teamwork, an unwavering bond that sustained their collective success. Representing Stämm became a personal mission for Ludmila and her colleagues, infusing them with the energy they needed. It was more than a work trip; it was a continued exploration to learn and evolve in a field where expertise is a journey, not a destination.
Martin Lopez Palermo presented the bioprocessor to our Swiss partners. Amidst a sea of start-ups, the Stämm team showcased their technology, immersing themselves in its disruptive potential. Witnessing cells grow and produce antibodies in real-time, quantifying data firsthand – it wasn’t just a presentation; it was a live revelation of the power encapsulated in our bioprocessors. The Swiss partners weren’t just spectators but collaborators in this journey towards innovation.
Mariano Collodel emerged from this experience with valuable data and renewed vigor for development. This trial provided him with a panoramic perspective on our projects. Now, he not only envisions the trajectory for multiple products in parallel but comprehends the imperative interrelation between them. Conversations with potential Stämm partners in Switzerland only added to his insights, offering a glimpse into how our technology could catalyze growth for other visionary companies.
The trip wasn’t without its challenges, but forged an unbreakable bond within the team. Their proactivity, resilience, and clear objectives served as the driving force, propelling Stämm into the future. This Swiss expedition was a testament to the technical prowess of our bioprocessors, validated by our partners at BioArk.
As we reflect on this re-framing, we extend our gratitude to the Swiss team – the spearhead that propelled Stämm into uncharted territories, where every challenge becomes an opportunity, and every triumph is a step closer to recast the biotech landscape. Stay tuned as we unveil the next chapter in our journey, as we enable change for those reshaping the future in pharma, academia, and biotech sectors.
